Subject:MONEY Money money...
Security:Public
Music:XuberX -- Rogue State (No Retaliation Remix)

So my XUBERX CD Finally came! long awaited, but seems to have been worth the wait. I can't be sure, yet, cause I've only been able to listen to it at very low volume, but it is playing even as I type this (still a bit quietly, as I'm at the office, you know). I also got a nice sampler disk and a band sticker. Nice!

let's see... what else? Oh: the Walk to d'fet ALS:

When:

Oct 21, 2007, registration opens at 9AM, and the walk begins at 10 AM (if you want parking in reasonable proximity, you need to get there early -- definitely before 9:30)
Where:
Constitution Gardens, Washington DC (on Constitution Ave, near the World War II memorial)
What:
a walk to raise awareness (and money) to help combat this deadly disease.
Who:
If you aren't aware, my dad was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS) in 1995, and he died in 1998. He was 54. My family has a Walk team, and info can be found here.

If you want more information, feel free to e-mail me. If you want to register but don't want to give out an e-mail address, feel free to use my spambait email address: cptjohnc @ yahoo. com if you don't have your own. If you do register, you'll get frequent updates from the organizers. Not excessive, but frequent. I'd love to see each and every one of you at the walk, and there is a barbecue lunch at my mom's house in McLean for all walkers. If you can't walk, but can contribute, that would be great too. I'd ask you to contribute through either my walk page, or through the team page, please. If you can't walk or contribute (and trust me, I understand that everyone has their hands out...) please pray/think nice thoughts for the success of the walk and our participation. Oh -- for folks out of the DC area... there are walks all over the country. You can see if there is one near you here. For my non-US friends -- Canada has a walk program, and info can be found here. I didn't find a similar event for other places, but your local ALS/ MND association might be able to tell you more.

I'll surely mention the walk again soon :-)
